Dominic Patten, Senior Editor and TV critic at Deadline, interviewed Chloé and her colleagues – Showrunner Kat Candler, co-executive producer Anthony Sparks, and supervising producer Erika L. Johnson – at the Writer’s Guild Foundation panel for Queen Sugar.

Earlier in the week Dominic also wrote about season 3 of Queen Sugar in a review of 3 shows premiering on the same night – season 5 of Arrested Development, season 2 of SIX, and season 3 of Queen Sugar. Dominic encouraged people to forgo the new season of Arrested Development on May 29th in favor of the first night of the 2-part premiere of Queen Sugar as it is “as a far better use of your precious TV time.”

Check out season 3 of Queen Sugar, new episodes Wednesdays at 10pm. Season 1 and 2 are available on Hulu.

Synopsis from Deadline: “Back again with an all female directing team, Queen Sugar stars Rutina Wesley, Dawn-Lyen Gardner and Kofi Siriboe as siblings trying to do right by their deceased father’s farm and legacy. That premise is of course the rural launch pad for an often-penetrating look at modern America, family bonds and issues of gender, race and class.  With Tina Lifford, Omar J. Dorsey and Dondré T. Whitfield among the cast too, the Warner Horizon Scripted TV-produced and Louisiana set Queen Sugar is based on the 2014 book of the same name by Natalie Baszile.”
